The warm weather is again playing hide and seek with us….and here I sit pining for the sunshine that just magically lifts everyone. This past weekend was beautiful on the shore, though I heard the beach was somewhat like the Sahara. Hot with sand whipping around everywhere. Unfortunately I spent my time inside Community Medical Center with my mother who was admitted last Thursday with a severe relapse of PMR (an auto-immune disease). To the relief of my sisters & brothers, she is finally responding and will come home tomorrow. We got our Mothers Day wish!

And I have no better advice than bathing in your favorite Blue Moon Ritual Bath to keep the energies open to new romance and amazing adventures. Draw a warm bath and add your favorite Blue Moon Ritual Bath. Light candles around the tub and bathroom and bring your favorite crystals and shells to bathe with you. Roll a towel behind your neck, moisten it, enter the bath, and relax! First and most importantly because education is never a waste of time and herbal healing has been here for forever.

The quiet influence of the wise women-their inner power and their healing skills-began to be feared.” Women were the first healers and plant knowledge and lore was passed down through generations. More and more of us are becoming disillusioned with the medical system as it exists today. Those of us who believe and practice these healing arts and sciences can share the knowledge of the old ways with them

As an herbalist as well as aromatherapist, I feel that learning all about the complete plant (whether using the whole herb or the oil) leaves the user more confident in his or her ability to use the plant safely while ultimately becoming more educated about the environment. Nature provides everything we need. But without knowing the plants, can you know what each one produces? And in the case of essential oils, the chemistry is even more important as they are many times more powerful than the whole herb. One of the reasons that I do what I do, is that I stand by the belief that the mind and body are one-the very definition of Holistic. There are enough pollutants in the atmosphere; do we need them in our medicines also?
