Newsletter Archives Blue Moon News- Valentine's Day 2006 "To love is the greatest thing in life; and it is very important to talk about love, to feel it, to nourish it, to treasure it, otherwise it is soon dissipated...But the moment you have in your heart this extraordinary thing called love and feel the depth, the delight, the ecstasy of it, you will discover that for you the world is transformed" ~Krishnamurti I really cannot complain about the weather this year (although it is pretty darn frigid out there now!). The unusually warm days have triggered a spring awakening- "sprouting" thoughts of love, fertility & magick within my very soul… the lusciousness of a new season….the very flirtatiousness of spring! Last week I returned from a salon industry cruise where I led a workshop on the use of aromatics in a spa setting. Class was only held during our days at sea, leaving plenty of time to bask in the hot sun of the Caribbean. It was on a beach that I started to work on this newsletter, planned for the lusty month of February. Needless to say the warm sultry air inspired thoughts of love, sex, romance, soul mates. Do you dreamily long for that special soul mate-your twin flame? Does it exist? Is it "the reuniting of one soul that was split in two & longs to be reunited with self"? Is it "the relationship between souls that have reincarnated life after life with one another & continues throughout infinity"? Whether we believe in the concept of a soul mate or are just seeking a wild new romance, some kind of crazy lusty sweep me off my feet kind of thing, I think most of us want and hope to find that special someone who will shelter, respect and love our true self. Valentine's Day is linked to the ancient Roman holiday of Lupercalia, a festival of sexuality. Also associated with February is Juno Februata, goddess of eroticism, sensuality & passionate love. We celebrate and honor her by exploring our sensual nature, accepting the gifts of love and romance into our lives. It is especially the time for those herbs, oils, seeds, spices & love charms that stir the fire within you.
