Greetings,
This month we celebrate Valentine's Day and a favorite sabbat in the Wiccan year. Imbolc (or Candlemas) is an ancient feast celebrated on January 31, February 1 or February 2. It signals the beginning of the season of light- the start of spring. Those of us who barely tolerate the cold can appreciate return of warm and sunny days. February 14th finds us enjoying a waxing moon, a perfect time to attract that special someone… fantasy, romance & love!!!

Anyone watching the events in Asia can't have failed to be touched in some way by what they have seen and heard. The Dalai Lama once said, "genuine compassion is based on the rationale that all human beings have an innate desire to be happy and overcome suffering...[and] on the basis of this recognition of this equality and commonality, you develop a sense of affinity and closeness with others." The fragility of life and our planet serves to remind of what is truly important in life. I hope we take that message to heart and let the lights of compassion and love into our souls.

Essential oils that stimulate sexuality include rose, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, patchouli, cinnamon and vanilla among others.

In the magickal or ritual bath, we use this time in our scented waters to affect change, seek solitude or promote dreaming.
