"… On June 8th, the world will experience an extremely rare astronomical event as Venus passes between Earth and the Sun, making the equivalent of an exact eclipse. Called a 'transit', the last time this occurred was Dec. 6, 1882. No living human has witnessed this event and no astrologer has felt its effects. But history is written, and because this event is so near, future history happening. The Venus transit is the astrological trump card of the year, and perhaps a defining event of our lifetime. Some say astrology works by the Sun projecting the energies of the planets. Now, imagine Venus, the planet of love, sex, beauty and abundance, and the planet of women, passing exactly in front of the Sun like a lens, and pouring across the Earth the concentrated rays of the Goddess… In the States and New Zealand, this was the era when the Suffrage movements triumphed. And it was during under the reign of Britain's longest ruling monarch, Queen Victoria. This transit will get results that may reach far beyond what we commonly think of as social issues. Start by gathering any items you wish to place on your altar. Choices could include stones, crystals, flowers, herbs, twigs, branches, sea salt, a red candle (small tapers are best-see below), red rose petals and anything else of special significance to you And statues. Some such as those of Shiva & Shakti could be used to represent the male and female in each of us. Beginning on a crescent moon, draw a ritual bath containing white sage to cleanse the psyche, purify and remove negativity. Dry off and slather your skin with one of our sensual massage oils (Enchanting Eros is a good choice here) Massage thoroughly while breathing in the scent…allowing it to penetrate your senses, your mind and soul. Now find the center of the heart Chakra and take a deep breath. Apply a few drops of Love Potion of choice (see Empowered Oils) directly on the point and massage gently. Try to be aware of your whole body from this spot. Wrap yourself in a towel, blanket, robe or anything soft and warm. Sit down in front of your chosen space and start to prepare your candle. Engrave it first with initials, a picture or symbol, then rub the sides with a few drops of your potion, concentrating on your desired outcome. Light your candle. Sprinkle some rose petals; place your figures and other objects on the altar. Lastly circle your altar with a ring of salt. Close your eyes. Are you seeking love? Visualize your soul partner. Already in love? Visualize taking your love to a deeper level. When doing a candle spell please allow the candle to burn completely (good reason for using small candles). For the next 6 days (7 in all) perform the above ritual adding a new item of personal interest to your altar. My new oil Tantric Kiss inspired the above. We use this sacred water time to affect changes in our lives and ourselves. It is a blessed time of vision. Choose a scent you love or one that has the vibrational, therapeutic and/or magickal effect you desire. Continue the experience by using oils, powders and lotions. Use candles that are in agreement with your goal. Don't use both Bath Salts & Bath Oil; you'll have to choose. The oil will coat your skin and you will lose the detoxifying effects of the salts.
