About Blue Moon Herbals

I had a hard time deciding what to say about myself (after all, what can you expect from a triple Libra), but here goes...

Blue Moon Herbals was created in 1994 in an effort to take control of my own health. I was first diagnosed with cancer in 1987, a time when "breast cancer" was not discussed as openly as it is today. Unfortunately for me, I was not diagnosed as quickly as I could have been. After all a woman of 35 with no history of cancer in her family could not possibly have the disease, right? I had a partial mastectomy followed by 2 & ½ years of chemotherapy and 10 months of radiation treatments. Remember the story of Alice in Wonderland? Tumbling down that rabbit hole, unsure of how in the world she would get out? Oh, goddess, that was me!!! My adventure into the unknown- I was Alice in Cancerland…functioning in a world where everyone is quite mad; a world where everything has been turned upside down. (I have danced with cancer, a few times over the last 2 decades, but it’s all good. I choose to give it no power).

As a life long lover/wearer/blender of oils, I was always in awe of the medicinal healing properties of the wild herbs. My grandmother was my first introduction to spirituality & ancient cultures as well as the plants. I was always intrigued by scent & the perfumes created from my favorite flowers. As a teenager patchouli was my favorite oil & I wore it every day. (Actually, I still do- Vintage Patchouli, being my hands down favorite)!!!!

I knew my path had to be something that reflected my love for this earth and my 30+ year interest in herbs…something that would capture my soul. Joining the sisterhood of cancer women changed me, forcing me to look clearly at my life. I knew then that my life’s work would be aromatic alchemy in the tradition of the Wise Woman & Magick.

With that goal in mind, I quit treatment altogether choosing my own alternative healing route. Working with meditation, massage, nutrition, reflexology and crystals, I nourished my body and fed my soul, and finally was ready to embark on further studies of essential oils, herbs & essences & their connection on a vibrational level with the mineral world. I am very grateful to the magical people & teachers who have influenced me greatly & all the wonderfully gifted people that I have worked with. You know who you are.

Today, I am an herbalist/aromatherapist, crystal energy healer, flower essence practitioner & Indian Head Massage therapist. I have owned and operated Blue Moon Herbals & Aromatics since 1994 creating blends for the magickal & spiritual community. The name of the company is a reflection of my desire to create something very different & very powerful, and a Blue Moon (the rare occurrence of 2 full moons in the same month) is all that and more. We are primarily known for our potions-woman-crafted with magick. The Blue Moon line of products is created with organic essential oils & botanicals, imbued resins, flower & gem essences and crystals all concocted in conjunction with the moon's phases. Alchemy at work? Without a doubt.

The other day I smelled a beautiful & rare co-distillation of a Vintage Frankincense with Myrrh. I was blown away by the scent. These special & sometimes rare batches of oils could never be made available for mass market production nor are they cost effective. But for those who truly appreciate quality there is no other choice. This is what I want for the Blue Moon customer. I am proud that my baby was one of the first woman-owned green & metaphysical businesses on the 'net and stand by my belief that we are caretakers of this earth. I am committed to helping you enhance your physical, emotional & spiritual well being through the use of pure therapeutic oils, herbs, flowers & crystals. Our Purpose? To create magick in people's lives.
